Languages are learned ear-first: understand, then imitate, then answer without thinking. Govori is built on that order. It gathers Slovenia's official coursebooks and classic stories into a sentence-by-sentence listening library, then turns everyday situations into daily speaking practice with an AI partner — training for the A2 / B1 oral exam the way the exam actually works: as reaction, not recitation.

All four official coursebooks · six Slovene classics · every sentence with its own audio, subtitles and translation
Govori follows the order in which languages are actually learned: comprehension before production, reflexes before fluency. Three rooms, one path.
Nobody can say a sentence they cannot hear. So the foundation is pure listening: the official coursebooks, recorded and split into single sentences. Each one plays blind first — you listen before you see — then reveals its text, slows down on request, and waits while you record yourself against the original. A spaced-repetition schedule brings every text back just before you would forget it. Unglamorous, and irreplaceable.
All four books — Slovenska beseda v živo 1a, 1b, 2 and Gremo naprej — every text, every sentence, with English or Chinese glosses.
Coursebook sentences are clean; real language has weather. The next step is literature you can genuinely follow: Slovene classics read aloud as audiobooks, the text highlighted line by line as the narrator goes, a translation one tap away. This is where vocabulary stops being a list and starts being a story — and where an hour of study starts to feel like reading, because it is.
Six classics, graded from A2 up — Desetnica, Povodni mož, Lepa Vida, Kralj Matjaž, Erazem Predjamski, and the short novel Veronika Deseniška.
Conversation is not recall — it is reaction. At the bakery or the pharmacy you have about one second to answer, and the oral exam tests exactly that second. Govori trains it with micro-tasks: one small situation at a time, answered out loud. An AI partner hears you and shows how a native would have put it — one step above your level, never ten — and every better sentence becomes a flashcard with its own audio. Practised daily, answers stop being retrieved and start arriving on their own.
Every situation the exam draws from — shop, doctor, post office, bank, flat viewing, phone enquiry… — plus a workshop that turns your own answers into your Part 1 self-presentation, exportable as a PDF.

It exists because passing the A2 or B1 exam is a condition for permanent residence, citizenship, work and study in Slovenia — and because the two things you cannot practise alone from a book are listening and speaking. So we built the library for the first, and the partner for the second.
